Recently, the 4th meeting of the Technical Committee of the Key Laboratory of Microbial Oil Recovery of Sinopec was held in Shengli Oilfield. Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, senior experts of Sinopec, China Petroleum Exploration and Development Research Institute, East China University of Science and Technology, Nankai University and many other universities and related leaders and scholars of Shengli Oil Field attended the meeting.
    Firstly, Shengli Engineering Institute introduced the major progress, site implementation, and next-step work arrangements of the 2017 Key Microbial Recovery Laboratory, followed by researchers from universities, research institutes, and the Microbiological Center of Shengli Engineering Institute on anaerobic reservoirs. Microbiological activation technology, depleted reservoir gasification technology, microbial anti-expansion technology, environmental bioremediation technology and other aspects of 10 special reports, covering the latest research direction of petroleum microbiology, represents the frontier of the petrochemical microbiology field. After the report was completed, members and experts of the laboratory committee gave opinions and suggestions on the construction of key laboratories.
    Academician Li Yang affirmed the work achievements of the key microbiological oil extraction laboratory in 2017. He pointed out that the next step should be to apply basic research and mechanism studies to accelerate the realization of the engineering of microbial oil recovery technology, and to achieve “accurate” according to the development needs of different reservoirs. “Medical” to realize the controllability of technology; actively expand the scale of application of petroleum microbes in water treatment and environmental remediation, and provide technical support for oilfields in terms of enhanced oil recovery, production, green and low-carbon environmental protection, carbon recycling, and so on. The cost-effective and efficient microbial oil recovery technology contributes more to the development of the oil field.
